Subject: Fragmentary Edition -- Look Elsewhere for the Text
The online edition has duplicate pages and is missing several pages (e.g. 228, 229, 255-258 -- I gave up on Google's rendering and found another edition not scanned quite so carelessly); it should be removed until all of the book's pages are scanned, once, in order. Google digitizing the world's books seems like an excellent idea, but if the results are as poor as this, the project is pointless!

Pages 228 and 229 are missing. I don't know if there are any others; very good book though.

Subject: 12 Years a slave? Just 12? I don’t think so
So, who really is a SLAVE? A person who is owned by his master? Works for him for no pay? No, this is not the only definition of a slave. In fact, that is a definition buried in time. A Slave is he whose destiny is in the hands of another. Thus, are we slaves? What would you do if you woke up and you found out that you were fired from your job? Or woke up and your employer asks you for a reason why he shouldn’t terminate your contract. Some would even go to their knees to beg coz you know deep down, a handful of persons depend on that salary of yours. So what is the difference between 18th century America and the 21st Century? There is only one difference; you are compensated for being a slave.
